I am seriously wondering if Umi is a nonfactor here. The amount of progress / development lately has been significant given the pace of the story beforehand. Chizuru walking over, ringing the doorbell, and asking Kazuya out on a date is quite forward for her. Sure, it's funny that Kazuya has no clue what is going on, but things can only accelerate from here. I wonder how long it will be until Chizuru just spills her guts and tells Kazuya what she's really thinking? What kind of trouble can Kazuya get into as he indulges in bottomless champagne!!? HAHA!

I commented on this earlier but I deleted it because I didn't want to be posting spoilers right when the episode dropped. Spoilers ahead I was thinking about what happened. In Episode 173. When Kazuya askes 'Is it ok to be doing this?', Chizuru's response is interesting. Basically, what she says can be paraphrased as follows, "I am out with my friend right now for lunch so nobody can complain. But, YOU asked ME out so let me ask you this, IS THIS A DATE?" But then in the ep. 174 she chickens out and rescinds the question. She's just as nervous as he is. When she says, "I guess things are back to the way they were" she's basically acknowledging that he asked her out and is assuming that it was just as friends but she thought that it was more. She's the idiot for answering her question for him. HAHA! So I say, good for him for confessing: it was actually beautiful even if he was interrupted. He thinks she didn't hear him and he's descended into grief, but little does he know... The signs are all there and it is SO obvious that she likes him. Man, that whole thing with Kibe was HILARIOUS!! Also, Kibe and Mami next episode. I thought she just had regrets about dumping Kazuya but now I'm beginning to think that she is a bit of a psychopath.

Yes! And Kazuya is too stupid to realize that Chizuru needed liquid courage even to ask him about his feelings. It doesn't help that she chooses words that he can easily misinterpret; No doubt he thinks she is going to shoot him down. "Oh, it's totally not a date but DO YOU HAVE FEELINGS FOR ME?"
