Manga Berserk is a whole series-collection of Japanese manga, which are written in the dark fantasy genre. They tell about the events taking place with the heroes of the dark medieval world, which is called Guts, namely about the lone mercenary Guts and Griffith, who is the leader of a gang of mercenaries.
The whole story is imbued with sharp philosophical questions that offer to understand a little better is humanity good or bad, study the issues of relationships between people, what happens to a person during isolation. At the same time, the study is not one-sided, they explore all facets of human nature. However, get ready, manga, like anime, is completely saturated with violence, brutality and sex scenes.
Initially, the story broadcasts about the end of a long century-long war, which practically destroyed the state of Midlenge. Further, it tells about how one of the mercenaries decides to leave the gang, as well as how the dreams of the leader of the mercenary gang are being destroyed to conquer his kingdom in order to rule it. Disappointed, Griffith is sent to prison, where he begins a romantic relationship with Charlotte, who is the king's daughter. In parallel with this, he suffers from serious moral problems, as it turned out that his past weighs on him. But he cannot fight fully, because he is too wounded and overweight. Then he decides to take a desperate step, he wanted to join the Hand of God group in order to receive divine power. To do this, he goes along with his gang to hijack the plane of the archdemons representing this service. He betrays his own guys on his own to gain incredible strength. Guts, who was there with the mercenaries, survived, but suffered incredibly morally from the losses of all his comrades, who were extremely cruelly dealt with by the archdemons. Griffith was reborn and also became an archdemon. The first thing he did was rape his own comrade, who then went crazy and dragged out a miserable existence.
The manga was created and presented in 1988.
Guts understands that everything that happens around him is a terrifying test that he must overcome on his own. He faces the knights of the throne, who are going to fight the archdemons and their minions. Griffin creates a new band of mercenaries among the archdemons to confront the knights. Meanwhile, poor Guts is trying to hide from the terrible forces howling in these lands. In the end, Griffith defeats the royal army, kills the emperor and founds a new city where people could feel safe among the most powerful creatures inhabiting this land, who seek to destroy and enslave everyone. A nightmarish world can crush anyone, and this city is the only island of some kind of stability.
Sometime after the start of the manga's release, it was announced that she would receive an anime adaptation.
